The make up in the stage productions literally looks more cat-like than these empty faces. Why couldn’t they have included markings of that sort?
Just for comparison: This is the same character (in case you’re unfamiliar with CATS) They could have easily done a sort advanced version of the stage make up to make the Jellicles cat-like without being creepy, but they didn’t. In fact, the face just isn’t feline enough for the rest of the head and body. That’s what makes it even worse.
